What's Up There? is the 17th episode of season 2 of Scooby-Doo! Original Mysteries.
Premise[]
The gang are stuck at a dead end at the bottom of the cliff and figure they should try to get to the top. But a Cliff Phantom makes it impossible to get to the top.
Synopsis[]
The gang find a phantom on a cliff.
The gang are driving along on a deserted highway. After a few minutes of discussion, Fred gets the sun in his eyes and the Mystery Machine goes off the road, making everyone swerve around violently. When they get to the bottom, they find a huge cliff.
The gang reasons, since there is no way to get around the cliff (dead ends in all directions, they can't go up because of cacti) they must go up the cliff. Fred gets climbing gear out of the Mystery Machine. It is grappling hooks and rope. The Mystery Machine might not make it, but Fred pushes a button, and the Mystery Machine flies up the cliff, landing on top. Sadly the gang wasn't in it. But some phantom appears and tries to push the Mystery Machine down but does not succeeds and instead scares the gang. When it disappears the gang decide to split up along the cliff.
Shaggy and Scooby go up the right side of the cliff, whizzing up to avoid the phantom. At one point caves are in the cliff and Shaggy and Scooby go in them, leaving the equipment outside. Unknown to Scooby and Shaggy, the equipment is pushed off the cliff by the Cliff Phantom.
Meanwhile on the other side, there are no caves, only rocks. Fred and the girls are slowly advancing, being careful. Daphne puts a foot on the cliff and it breaks, sending her inside. Fred and Velma follow, revealing another section of the caves, but the Phantom chases them out and they go up the cliff, but the Phantom sabotages it so they are sent down. Luckily no one is hurt, but for some reason the Mystery Machine is there and they go up the top.
In the caves, Shaggy and Scooby find nothing but the phantom, and quickly whiz up the cliff where they discover the Mystery Machine and...an amusement park? But just then the gang wake up. It was all a dream.
